Ikos Aria: unique family concept in Kos
Thinking of the perfect summer destination quickly sets my mind on Greece. We’ve recently started appreciating the Greek hospitality and it felt like we should explore these Greek vibes even more. We immediately knew Ikos Aria would give us the relaxing holidays we had been looking for!
Ikos Aria: Location on point!
Located in the southern part of Kos, Ikos Aria is a beacon of peace. With a sandy beach over 1km long, the feeling of space is always there! It’s located in the area of Kefalos where only few hotels are located, but where the beaches are at their best. Good thing; the island of Kos only has the size of a big napkin, so with your rental car (available at the hotel!), you get in 1 hour from one side of the island to the other. Kos-town is about 1 hour drive up north while the most secluded beaches in the south are only 20 minutes away (off road that is ;))
Ikos Aria: Luxury family holiday
If you’re looking for a luxury accommodation where the whole family is welcomed, you’re good at Ikos Aria! Not only are kids tolerated, it’s more than that! Ikos presents itself as a family concept. Kids are as important as adult guests and Ikos provides them with a whole range of facilities. There are no less than 3 age groups for entertainment (baby club, kids club and teen club) and the restaurants (which there are many!) all have a special kids menu. At Ikos, they are striving to fulfill all of your needs. They call it their Infinity lifestyle concept. You want something? Just ask and they will arrange it.
In order to make sure families can come as they are (which is sometimes loud and overpacked :-)), Ikos Aria also has an adult only part. In my opinion the best strategy to make sure everybody gets what he/she came for. What really stayed with us was the amazing service once you arrive. The atmosphere is always luxurious and relaxing, but never awkward (which we sometimes find the case in high end hotels). We arrived around noon, were immediately escorted to our room and could put our feet under the table in Ouzo, the restaurant near the beach with Greek specialties (which soon turned out to be our favorite restaurant for lunch!). All of this in less than half an hour. We can honestly say that Ikos Aria has an all inclusive concept that we have never experienced before. The food in the restaurant, the wines, the interior is a true fine dining experience. Like I said: Ouzo was our favorite for lunch and breakfast. For dinner I must say that restaurant Provencale was my personal favorite. The Mediterranean cuisine is just so good and the kitchen perfectly matched the standards. Make sure you make the reservations for the restaurants the day of your arrival, so you can try all of them. For breakfast and lunch, reservation is not necessary. And however we loved lunch opportunities at Ouzo, having lunch on the loungers next to the pool is sometimes even most relaxing. The service was exquisite, the menu not too extensive. Also included in the service by the pool? Sunglasscleaning service (for real!)
The room we had was a deluxe Junior suite with private garden. The garden (with comfortable loungers) was our preferred place for long evening talks when the kids were in bed. Like the rest of the Ikos interior, it was bright and tastefully decorated.
What you do at Ikos Aria is mostly relax, enjoy the good life and quality time with your family. Must you want to go out of the hotel one day, we can only recommend to use the rental cars Ikos provides. The rental car is included in the all in offer (1day/stay) and just gives the final touch to your holiday. We used it to do a trip to Kos Town and the mountain village of Zia and we loved the feeling of being on the road (even if it was only for 1 day). Just inform at the reception when the cars are available and they’ll set you up for your trip! When you’re not on the road, there are plenty of activities to do at the resort. The non-motorized watersports (such as pedalo or sup) are also included in your stay. Right in front of the hotel’s beach, there is a small island with only a church and you can swim of paddle there. It’s not only the perfect photo-spot, it’s also a challenging climb to get up there (we’re talking challenging for the parents, these kids just climb up as if it’s nothing). You can also rent bikes ànd you can sign up for a diving initiation (ask for it!).
Are you thinking about planning your next family holiday at Ikos? Stop thinking, start booking. I swear that you won’t regret, it’s truly one of the best all inclusive experiences we ever had!
